    Like many of you, the struggled to lose weight has become more and more challenging the older that I've gotten.

    I've tried every kind of diet.

    Vegetarian. Vegan. Paleo. Calorie Counting. Weight Watchers.

    Most of them left me hungry, cranky, and unhappy.

    Worst of all, thanks to my autoimmune disease, I'd rarely lose weight, and if I did lose weight, I'd gain it back quickly, plus an extra 10 pounds.

    I needed a long term solution, and for me, that is a low carb keto diet.

    For the first time in my life, I have fewer cravings, and I am eating less.

    Best of all, I am enjoying delicious food AND seeing the scale inch down.

    (For me, it is slow thanks to Hashimoto's, but any progress is good progress.)

    Plus, my energy levels have never been better.

    9 Random Facts About Me

    1 I am such a kid at heart and love Disney and Universal. We are annual pass holders to both. All year long, except for the summer, I take my three kids to a theme park once a week.

    2 Rollercoasters are my happy place. My favorite? The Hulk and Islands of Adventure.

    3 Our family was location independent and traveled the U.S. for eleven years. We recently settled down into a "permanent" home, and I couldn't be more excited.

    4 My favorite color is red, and it is my daughter's favorite color too!

    5 Speaking of my daughter, my favorite hobby is dressing her. She has more clothes than the four other members of the family combined.

    6 I grew up in Gainesville, Florida, and am a University of Florida graduate.

    7 But that didn't stop me from attending the rival Florida State University for the first two years of college. For the record, I am a Gator through and through.

    8 My favorite drink is Chardonnay. Yes, it slows down weight loss. But I love it.

    9 My 13 and 14-year-old boys tower over me. One of them is 5'11," and the other is 6'1" - with size 12 and 13 wide shoes. I pity my grocery bill in another two years.
